So I've been working on this KOTR dvd a lot lately, so keep checking back for that. To hold you over here's a little montage from Imperial last night.

So it has come to my attention that there have been a ton of local skate blogs linking to me. I always appreciate this so I'm linking you guys back now; thanks! Also, fellow SP homie TuneBomb has a sick website, so check that out and make sure you peep The Wub Tour on there. Lastly, amazing artist and skateboarder Jay Croft has an interview up on Alien Workshop's website. Jay also did a t-shirt and board graphic from them, but I unfortunately haven't found anywhere to purchase them yet. Anyways, congrats Jay and happy shredding!

PS: the 2008 KOTR dvd image is coming and will be free to download.

The past 4 weeks have been the most hectic in terms of filming and editing in my life. I'm still slacking on OneUp Skateshop's go skate day montage, so don't worry it's coming. On top of that, I have been filming for Skate Perception's annual King of the Road competition. After 30+ hours of editing, it is finally complete for you to enjoy. I'd like to thank the whole team for putting forth their effort, I had a lot of fun. I'll also be providing a DVD image soon enough so you can burn a DVD if you care to. And if you have an SP account, the voting for best KOTR edit will begin soon; so make sure you cast your vote.

I've spent the past month or so filming and editing as much as possible, but I've had to cut back a little with work and what not. Here's a new montage from the Follansbee park in West Virginia. The clip features Tyler Baker, Dave Carulli, Caleb Futey, Ben Smith, John Kraina, Malone Lynn and CJ Wright. Thank god we got to skate the curved ledge before they bolted it down in the most retarded position ever. Over this weekend I lost my phone to the waters of Harmon Creek, so whoever reads this should send me their number. Also Go Skate day is this saturday, and also the start of Skate Perception's King of the Road. It's gonna be a blast, and I can't wait for the finished video. Stay tuned!

I'm back in good ol Pennsylvania for the summer. I was happy to spend one of my first days back with longtime fellow ripper Brad Boyer.

There's a new new video up... That's kinda cool, especially considering there hasn't been a new one in more than a month. I'm actually going to post a new montage pretty soon because the WEATHER FINALLY BROKE!

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone - I've been super busy lately. First off, I'd like to thank EVERYONE who showed their support in voting for our video. We got 2nd place, and missed out of winning by 7 votes. Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE. I've been doing as much filming as I can lately, so hopefully there will be a video update next time. Peace all.

Just a reminder, TOMORROW is the last day of voting for the Ohiolink video contest! VOTE VOTE VOTE!

February 26th, 2008

I've been getting complaints that my site was too hard to read, so I decided to clean things up a bit. I also added some fresh new links that are definitely worth checking out; especially Police Informer. Also, there's going to be a video premiere of Jeff Biedenbach's Jackelope and the King of Ohio 2007 video, edited by Don Hammersly, on March 1st at the Green Room in Kent. It's gonna get nuts so definitely be there.

So the OhioLINK Video Contest entry is doing very well with voting, so I'd like to thank everyone who voted for us and who are still voting. The newest clip I'm posting is my entry into Skate Perception's Video Clip Assignment #30. I spent around 2 weeks editing it so please, ENJOY IT.

Note: This clip has some pretty explicit language in it, and I almost didn't post it here. So BE WARNED: THIS CLIP IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Sorry Mom and Dad...

My good friend and fellow Media Production major, John Tamba, notified me of a video contest last week for OhioLINK. So we entered on the day of the deadline. Winner gets a 160gig iPod. Here it is.

So I finally got bored enough to edit a montage of actual street footage! This is just a feel good montage I think everyone should enjoy, so do it up and get psyched!

Alright so B3 yesterday was pretty fun and I filmed yet another B-Cubed montage. However, last night when I was exporting the montage my computer crashed and I had to reformat for the first time in my computer's life. Thank God I got an external harddrive for Christmas because that pretty much saved me. I spent all day setting my computer back up and I'm finally bringing you the montage that was so sick it killed my computer. Also, HDSkate linked to one of my videos again so I'm linking to them now, check em out!

The first B-Cubed session in about a year for me happened over the weekend. I didn't really get enough footage for a montage and was going to wait longer, but Justin convinced me to make one. He sent over a couple clips he filmed that are in this, so just know I didn't film everything. Enjoy!

Last night was the first time I got to film in forever! The weather and the fact that it gets dark at 6 now have really made it hard to get some shreddin' done. Thankfully I went to Evolution last night and we filmed a fun little montage. Skaters (in order of appearance) are: Dan Hauenstein, Matt Marlatt, Kyle from Canton, and myself. Oh, and here's a hi-res version!

So I finally caved and got a .com address. I was sick of sitesled and was tired of looking at the old design. If the footage isn't up while you're reading this, be patient - it will be up soon. More footage coming soon, check back often.

Wow, it's been a long time. Sorry about that, I've just been busy keeping my blog updated, getting school work done and what have you. Yesterday was a gorgeous fall day where boredom got the best of me. So I filmed a whole montage of myself by myself at the train ledges. To be concise, it is in 24 frames per second. To be technical, it was shot on my DVC30's "frame mode" setting (which is "fake" 30 frames per second), then slowed to 80%, then finally ran through a 3:2 pulldown. The result is "fake" 24 frames per second, but I think it looks great.

I went to the Akron Park twice over the weekend and filmed a whole bunch of fun stuff for everyone. I also have to keep a blog for one of my classes at school, and if I like updating it enough then I'll keep doing so, if not then it'll just sit there forever.

The past 2 days have been quite fruitful in terms of footage accumulation for Bolts & Buttah. The Funks and Drew came up and we got literally 9 minutes of footage. I edited a montage to some of it, but the mega-hammers are being withheld for the video. Additional filming was handled by Justin and Addison Funk and the static angles were shot with a DVX. Enjoy!

August 14th, 2007
Well I'm back in Akron and classes started today. After class and work me and Nick Sturm went skating at the train ledges. By the way, he calls it "The Shocker" for good reason - it will shock you.

Finally back on my board! Drew got an epic 50-second long line last night at Imperial that was fun to film. That's it.

July 29th, 2007
Ok so I guess now I'm going to start uploading my filming assignment entries on SkatePerception. Here's my entry for Assignment 35: Best Long Lense Gap. It's Dave Kraina doing a switch ollie at the new spot, Freedom Way. Also I added a "clip of the week" section. This probably will not be updated every week, but the clip is Nick Sturm 5050ing over the love seat at Imperial. This is probly going to be the last update for a little bit because I'm getting my wisdom teeth plucked this Wednesday.

July 13th, 2007
Wow, so it has been two months since the last update. Well my excuse is that a lot of the footage I've been logging is not for view to the public. I've been helping film for Bolts & Buttah, HCCrew's latest video, so I can't show most of the footage I film. The video's going to be even more bonkers than 7 Plys of Love, so sit tight for it. Last night was a pretty decent session at the Imperial Skatepark, so I filmed some stuff and edited a montage. Most of it is fisheye - my apologies - but I think you'll enjoy it. The song is Tu M'intrigues by General Elektriks.

So this morning I barely had enough time to finish editing my final project for Basic AV Editing. Entitled Against Your Mind, it is now here for everyone to enjoy (hopefully). First off, this was edited on Avid, something relatively new to me. I usually edit on Premiere. There's plenty wrong with this video, for instance the audio is kind've bad in my opinion. There's also some stuff that I wanted to put in but didn't have time. You may also notice some stuff in the 2nd view through that you didn't notice the first time.

April 25th, 2007
Sorry for not updating in a while, but the weather is just breaking and the footage is finally starting to come in. A bunch of people from home came up to Akron last saturday to shred. I filmed most of the time so here's a little montage of just some of the footage. Skaters include Brandon Barber, Me, Norm McClements, Zach Funk, CJ Wright, and Tim Beal.
-Dave

March 26th, 2007
So I got back from spring break yesterday and began editing some of the footage I collected. There's another B3 Montage up because it rained most of the days. Also, Travis Miller just finished his site, Skate Akron, and its sick. There's some really good clips on there so definitely check it out.

This is a site made to catalogue my video portfolio. Most of the videos are skateboarding related, however I'm going to be uploading other stuff too, like The Devil Came Up to Akron. In case you are wondering, I shoot with a Panasonic DVC30 with a Nikon FC-E9 fisheye, however, The Devil Came Up to Akron was filmed with a Sony HC-32. This site will be updated regularly with more clips and entries. Thank you for your visit.
